Jerpoint Abbey was founded in the 12th century, and is one of the best preserved examples of a medieval Cistercian Abbey in Ireland. The style of the abbey is a mixture of Romanesque and Gothic architecture, representing the transition between styles
In 2021 I was approached by Dr Breda Lynch to produce an isometric illustration with cutaways to show detail and interior of the complex for her upcoming book "A Monastic Landscape, The Cistercians in Ireland"
Based on research and Dr. Lynch's information and feedback, multiple drafts were produces and then refined digitally using Procreate as the main illustration programme. The rights to the image was subsequently bought by OPW Ireland for use in promotional material on the site.
